POLICE are searching for witnesses to a crash on the A12 today.The northbound carriageway of the A12, near the Boreham interchange, Chelmsford, was closed after a Skoda and Peugeot collided with each other at about 6.10am.

POLICE are searching for witnesses to a crash on the A12 today.

The northbound carriageway of the A12, near the Boreham interchange, Chelmsford, was closed after a Skoda and Peugeot collided with each other at about 6.10am.

The grey Skoda ended up down an embankment and firefighters had to rescue the 47-year-old driver. The 54-year-old driver, of the silver Peugeot, from Felixstowe, was uninjured.

The casualty was taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford where he is undergoing tests.

An investigation in to the crash was carried out, which led to the road being closed until 12.15pm.
