Police capture prison absconder

POLICE have captured an escaped prisoner in Ipswich.A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said 49-year-old James “Rocky” Purcell was arrested at a shop in Ipswich yesterday afternoon.

POLICE have captured an escaped prisoner in Ipswich.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said 49-year-old James “Rocky” Purcell, who was serving five years and eight months for robbery, was arrested at a shop in Ipswich yesterday afternoon.

The spokeswoman said: “He will now be returned to the prison system.”

Purcell had been on the run for more than a month having absconded from Hollesley Bay prison on June 3.
