POLICE searching for a 22-year-old footballer who went missing after a festive night out have discovered a body.
Adam Passfield, of Sharpington Close, Galleywood, was last seen at around 3am on December 19 after celebrating with team-mates from the Heybridge Swifts Football Club.
Specialist divers from Sussex Police today discovered the body of a man in the River Chelmer, in Chelmsford, near where Mr Passfield went missing.
“Adam's family have been informed about the discovery and are being supported by police family liaison officers,” an Essex Police spokeswoman said.
“The body has not been formally identified.”
