POLICE are hunting for a lorry driver who crashed into a woman and her baby and then headed off without stopping.
The accident happened on the A12 at Langham, near Colchester at about 11.50am yesterday.
The 20-year-old woman's red Vauxhall Astra had broken down in the nearside lane of the Colchester-bound carriageway.
Her car was struck by an articulated lorry which failed to stop but amazingly neither the woman or her one-year-old daughter were injured.
Police have said the lorry may have had a red cab but there are no more details at this stage.
Anyone with information should contact Stanway road police on 01206 762512.
