DETECTIVES today issued another direct appeal to the kidnapper they believe may be holding Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.

And in a move indicating they believe the abductor may still have Jessica's Nokia 5110 phone, the officer in charge of the investigation urged whoever is holding the schoolgirls to use it to make contact.

In this latest appeal Detective Superintendent David Beck said: "I appeal to you again to work with me to stop this getting any worse than it is.

"You do have a way out.

"I have left you a personal message and a text message on Jessica's mobile phone.

"Listen to that message.

"It will tell you how to contact me so you can stop this now."

He emphasised the final three words of the sentence, then paused for a moment, looking directly into the camera, before adding: "You have the opportunity to speak to me. This is the time to use it."
