ONLOOKERS who witnessed an increased police presence around Ipswich Crown Court today might have been forgiven for thinking a high profile prisoner was being escorted back to prison.
ONLOOKERS who witnessed an increased police presence around Ipswich Crown Court today might have been forgiven for thinking a high profile prisoner was being escorted back to prison.
However in reality the scene was far less dramatic and turned out to be simply a police training exercise.
People around the court had reported seeing a large number of police around the complex this afternoon raising speculation of a large police operation.
But a Suffolk police spokesman said: “Police were being trained on how to escort convoys.”
