A SLEEPING man had to be rescued by police officers today after his fire alarm went off.
A pan on the stove caused the alarm to start, although there were no flames when firefighters and police officers arrived at the house in Oak Hill, Hollesley Bay, around 12.40am.
The man, who was unhurt, was rescued by the police and the pan, which officers expected to catch fire at any moment, was dealt with by firefighters.
The whole incident was under control by just after 1am.
