AN appeal for information has been made after police were called to a Suffolk town following reports of fighting involving up to six people.

Officers were called to Lake Avenue in Bury St Edmunds at about 11.20pm on Monday.

Police believe that one or two of the people involved left the scene in a dark-coloured hatchback.

One man was hurt in the assault and was treated for head injuries at West Suffolk Hospital.

Dc Eammon Bridger, who is investigating the incident, said: “We would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information to get in touch. We would also like to hear from anyone who saw the dark-coloured car leaving the scene.”
