THE Beacon Town campaign is getting a massive boost all over the town as the I Love Ipswich message is distributed to bus passengers.

Ipswich Buses has become the first major institution in the town to spread the message after it had hundreds of reels of tickets printed with the I Love Ipswich message on the back.

The company pledged to spread the message after taking part in the first Beacon Town conference in February – and has become the first to follow up with a tangible scheme.

Managing director Malcolm Robson said: “Our company has a very important role in the life of the town and we are delighted to be able to use our services to get this message across.

“The people that use Ipswich Buses have very strong links with the town, most of them really love the town – and we are delighted to show we want to help make the town an even better place.”

Ipswich Star editor Nigel Pickover was delighted to help the bus company launch the new tickets during a special trip to our offices.

He said: “We had many pledges from organisations across the town at the Beacon Conference to boost the town – but we always knew it would take a few weeks to put them into place.

“I’m delighted that Ipswich Buses, a company used and loved by thousands of local people, has been the first to take up the baton and we look forward to many others following their lead.”
