The post-mortem of a man found dead in an Ipswich river is expected to take place within the next 24 hours, according to police.
Officers were called around 10.30am yesterday to reports that a body had been discovered in the River Gipping near to London Road.
Suffolk police has identified the body and his next of kin has been informed.
A police spokeswoman said a post-mortem examination is expected to take place either later today or tomorrow morning, and the man’s name is likely to be released tomorrow by the force.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
