WOULD-BE robbers fled empty handed from the scene of an attempted raid at an Ipswich post office.
A man burst into Chantry post office in Hawthorn Drive at about 4pm today.
He banged on the security screen and demanded staff hand over cash, but fled when they pressed an alarm button.
Police said no weapon was used in the attempted robbery and said no-one had been hurt.
A Suffolk police spokesman said he was keen to trace two men who were seen fleeing from the scene.
One was described as of mixed ethnic origin, 5ft 4in tall, aged between 20 and 26 and wearing a dark blue or grey fleece top.

The second man was said to be white, 5ft 9in tall, aged in his late 20s and wearing a brown hooded top.
