The home of Adnams and a haunt for day-tripping celebrities is set to get its own postmark as the postal service launches its new set of Coastlines stamps.

A specially designed 'Southwold – Coastline' postmark will also be used on request for all mail posted through Royal Mail South East Special Handstamp Centre on or before March 19.

The postmark, bearing the special date and the Adnams logo, will also be accompanied by a specially designed envelope showing the stretch of the Suffolk coast recently made famous by the Bafta winning and Oscar nominated movie, Iris, which stars Dame Judi Dench, Jim Broadbent and Kate Winslet.

Norfolk and Suffolk artist, Mel Harris, is a world renowned portrait and stamp artist who has drawn the Southwold coastline with numerous buildings and places shown in fine detail for the special occasion.

The new range of Coastlines stamps features ten different pictures, each with a face value of 27p, and available at all post offices from March 19.

And the full colour first day cover, with the special local postmark, sponsored through Fourpenny Post, will be available for one day only for £9.90 (plus postage and packing). Orders should be sent to Fourpenny Post Covers, 30 Dinsdale Avenue, Wallsend, NE28 9JD.

A 30 per cent donation from each cover sold will be donated to The Adnams Charity.
