LIGHTS are down in Felixstowe today after the town was hit by a major power cut.
Traffic signals stopped working and supermarkets were plunged into darkness following the loss of power at about 2.30pm.
EDF Energy said power supplies to several thousand customers in central Felixstowe were lost but that engineers had restored power to most of the customers within 10 minutes.
Engineers are still trying to bring back power to the remaining areas affected and do not yet know the cause of the power cut.
