MOTORISTS around Suffolk have some good news today with petrol prices coming down from their all-time high earlier this year.

Over the past week, several petrol stations have advertised a much lower price for fuel, taking the price down by as much as 6p per litre.

Tesco at Copdock interchange has lowered its price for unleaded and diesel twice in the past two weeks, from more than 95p to 89.9p per litre.

Shell, near the Orwell Bridge, Ipswich, has lowered its price for unleaded petrol to 89.9p per litre to 92.9p.

The RAC said the world price of oil has been lowered due to a slight stability in the Middle East conflicts at present.

Director of RAC Foundation, Edmund King said: “The cutting of fuel prices mainly around supermarkets has been noted. The certainty in the Middle East has been significant in reducing the price of crude oil. This along with the supermarkets attempting to lure more customers explains the lower petrol price.”
