A LORRY driver who crashed into the Suffolk Punch pub in Norwich Road is today out of intensive care.The man from Leicester is now recovering on a ward at Ipswich Hospital, after the accident on Tuesday morning.
A LORRY driver who crashed into the Suffolk Punch pub in Norwich Road is today out of intensive care.
The man from Leicester is now recovering on a ward at Ipswich Hospital, after the accident on Tuesday morning.
A police spokeswoman said: "His condition is no longer critical. It is improving considerably."
The driver was driving a Mercedes box van which clipped a Vauxhall van before mounting the pavement and crashing into the popular pub at 5.45am.
The incident which caused early morning traffic chaos in the Norwich Road area.
Both drivers had to be cut free from their vehicles but the driver of the Vauxhall van was released with minor injuries.
