A new jury was sworn it at 11.35am after the previous jury was discharged when one of the jurors reported ill.
Mr Wright was speaking at the start of a trial expected to last at least six weeks and told jurors: “We say at the end of the trial you will be satisfied that he (Steve Wright) was indeed responsible for the murder of each of these five women.”
