POLICE have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was found at a house in King’s Lynn yesterday.

Officers discovered the body on Leicester Avenue in Gaywood at around 4pm.

Today the avenue, off Bagge Road, is cordoned off as crime scene investigators search for clues.

The body was removed from the house at around 12noon today and a post mortem is expected to be carried out this afternoon.

A police spokesman said today: “The body of a man was found at 3 Leicester Avenue, Kings Lynn at 4pm yesterday (March 12).

“The death is being treated as murder.

“Local CID officers, together with officers from the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Major Investigation Team, have begun an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“The identity of the man has not yet been confirmed.

“It is expected that a Home Office Post Mortem will take place this afternoon.”

Police are currently conducting house to house enquiries.
