Young Driver, a driving school which holds lessons for youngsters aged between 10-17 years old, launched its program in Woodbridge for the first time at the weekend. Reporter Megan Aldous and her brother Jack Aldous headed down there to experience a lesson.

Myself, Jack and our dad made our way to Bentwaters Park in Woodbridge to experience a youngster lesson for ourselves. The company kindly let us come along and film the whole thing.

Jack, who is 14-years-old, was very excited to get behind the wheel for the first time.

When we got there we were greeted by friendly staff and swiftly assigned a driving instructor - Jack was paired with George Berry.

George Berry, who has been a driving instructor for just under two years, introduced himself to us and then got Jack set up in the car.

George was happy to get involved with my report/video and set up a camera in the vehicle to record the whole thing.

George was friendly, patient and made the lesson an enjoyable experience for us all. Jack was in the drivers seat, I was sitting in the back and dad was outside filming.

The lesson flew by and Jack was taught how to start the car, steer, reverse, turn in the road, change gear, safely stop and how to tackle a roundabout.

Everything about the experience was well thought out and ran smoothly. There was plenty of room for all the lessons to take place and different zones for the drivers to learn different things. There were three lanes on the runway a slow, medium and a fast lane.

At the end of the lesson George gave Jack a debrief on what went well and what needed some work.

Jack also took away a driving log book which explained what he had learnt and what level he was on - Jack successfully passed level one.

After the lesson I asked Jack what he thought of he lesson, he said:

“I really enjoyed the lesson it was really good, it has made me excited for when I am 17 and can learn how to drive. I think I will like driving.”

Find out what George thought of Jacks driving by watching the video until the end.
