THE A120 has reopened after a horrific crash near Stansted in which at least four cows were killed.
The collision - between a tractor pulling a trailer and a lorry - happened at lunchtime between Stansted and Dunmow.
The trailer was carrying around 16 cows when it was involved in a collision with the Scania lorry at around 1.15pm. The lorry overturned in the crash.
The remaining cows, some of whom were injured, had to be removed from the trailer. Because of potential problems with livestock on the road, both carriageways were shut. A vet was called to the scene.
