Chelsworth Avenue in Ipswich has now reopened to traffic after a sinkhole opened up in the road this morning.
The road, in the north of the town, was closed to traffic from around 12.30pm today, Thursday April 20, but was reopened just before 2.30pm once excavation work was completed and the hole filled in.
A spokesman for Suffolk County Council said the hole was not very big and that after an inspection was not deemed to be a major problem.
He confirmed the hole had been filled and that the road was now back open to traffic.
