Road reopens after serious crash

The two elderly occupants of a Fiat Bravo, a 77-year-old man and an 86-year-old woman, were thought to have been seriously injured in the smash, which saw their vehicle in collision with an Audi A4.

Both were taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital, and it has now emerged that their injuries are not as serious as first thought.

The crash took place near Foxhall Road and Eagle Way shortly before noon.

The northbound carriageway was blocked for more than an hour.

A spokesman for the force appealed for witnesses to the accident to call the Roads Policing Unit on 01473 613500.
