ROADWORKS on the main A12 carriageway at Hatfield Peverel in Essex will be completed by Monday – two weeks ahead of schedule.The Highways Agency said although work would still continue on the three bridges, the main carriageways would be opened and the 40mph speed restriction removed in the next few days.

The Highways Agency said although work would still continue on the three bridges, the main carriageways would be opened and the 40mph speed restriction removed in the next few days.
Highways Agency project manager, Jamie Hassall, said: "These major maintenance works have involved the replacement of the worn- out concrete road surface with a smoother, quieter one, which should benefit both road users and local residents.
"However, I would like to apologise to local residents for the continuing work on the bridges."
