WHEN it comes to talent, old age doesn't have to signal the end of the road.

Star performers like Bruce Forsyth and Shirley Bassey are living proof that entertainers can still perform well into their 70s and 80s.

Now members of the older generation in Suffolk are being encouraged to take part in a series of talent shows in Bupa care homes.

Bupa Wants Talent is being held to mark UK Older People's Day on October 1, a national day of events to celebrate later life.

Siobhan Drane, Bupa's community consultant, said: “Whether your talents lie in singing, dancing, flower arranging or being an expert on the pottery wheel, we want to hear from you.”

Entries must be received by Monday, August 31 - simply provide your name, contact details and your chosen talent and Bupa will be in touch with further details.

To register your interest, call 0845 600 4622, e-mail: talent@bupa.com or write to: Bupa Wants Talent, Bupa, Bridge House, Outwood Lane, Leeds, LS18 4UP.

Participants must be over 65 years old and individuals will be asked to perform for a maximum of five minutes each. For more information, visit www.bupacarehomes.com.
