IPSWICH Town fans in America are keen to give a local charity the chance to help supporters see some matches at Portman Road next season.

The North American Ipswich Town Supporters' club is buying two season tickets for the Lower North Stand.

They will be available for any US-based fans to use if they visit Ipswich during the season.

But for many matches no one from America will be here – and then the tickets will be made available to local fans nominated by a charity.

"I will have a contact and I will let them know 2 weeks before each game whether we want the tickets," said Mick Scrivener from the Stateside Tractor Boyz.

"I would imagine at least half the games, if not more, will be available.

"It is our way of giving back to the community and giving some people, who would otherwise miss out, the chance to watch a game.

"I would personally like it to be for low income families/single parents, but we are looking for any deserving charity.

"I have been lucky to support Ipswich since 1975, when I attended my first game, and it has always been good to me, I want others to see what I have seen!"

Members of the Stateside Tractor Boyz are regular visitors to Town, and followed the club in Europe last year – Mick and a group went to Milan to see the club take on Inter.
