At 10pm yesterday Ipswich firefighters went to Landseer Park where a patch of undergrowth was alight.

Just over an hour earlier, at 8.50pm, a crew went to the foreshore at Nacton and spent around 40minutes using buckets of water to extinguish an undergrowth fire.

A Hadleigh crew went to Holbecks Lane in the town at 8.30pm to a bush fire and Elmswell and Stowmarket crews attended Poplar Hill, Stowmarket, to a grass fire at 7.50pm.

At 7.45pm there was a field fire next to the A12 at Capel St Mary which firefighters spent around 30minutes bringing under control.

Also at 7.45pm, 100square metres of stubble and grass was reported alight at Church Lane, Knodishall. It took around 10minutes to be extinguished.

Aside from the series of grass fires, a crew went to Deben Avenue in Martlesham at 7.45pm where a garage fire blazed for around 15minutes.
