The Shadow Business Secretary returned to Ipswich today to see the work that is being done at youth employment centre, MyGo.
Labour MP Chuka Umunna was joined by the party’s parliamentary candidate, David Ellesmere for a guided tour of the centre followed by a round of door-to-door canvassing.
Mr Umunna said the model that MyGo was based on, having the local authority jointly working with Jobcentre Plus and business, was one Labour wanted to emulate nationally.
He said the county council’s announcement that nine children’s centres will close in Suffolk was a “great shame and damning indictment on this government”.
