Ipswich’s annual MayDay festival on Sunday afternoon is to have a special visitor – Shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham is due to speak to the crowds during the mid-afternoon.
He is visiting Ipswich during a tour of the region in an attempt to boost the Labour vote in next week’s general election.
The Mayday Festival runs from noon on Sunday until 6pm – after which there is a party @L’Apres
The festival is organised by the Ipswich and District Trades Union Council and will also be addressed by the constituency’s Labour candidate David Ellesmere.
A number of bands are lined up for the main Roger MacKay stage at the evening and there will be children’s rides, amusements, five-a-side football tournament for Under 11s, and catering stalls.
