On the day we name and shame three more alcohol-fuelled motorists posters are being put up in pubs and nightspots urging Christmas revellers to shop drunks who get behind the wheel.
Landlord and chairman of Ipswich Pubwatch Michael Collins led the way by being the first to put up our Shame on You posters at his McGinty's bar in Northgate Street.
Suffolk police have already urged members of the public to call 999 to report boozed-up motorists.
Now the future chief constable of Suffolk, Alastair McWhirter, has also backed this latest initiative to target drink drivers.
He said: "My feeling is that anything which will possibly stop somebody drinking and driving might save a life and that has got to be a real benefit."
