Sidegate Primary School in Ipswich was buzzing with activity on Friday as the whole school celebrated its second annual Sidegate Arts Festival.
The school, which has been a champion for arts subjects, featured children from all year groups taking part in activities, including history told through song and dance, recitals of war poems, author workshops, storytelling and morris dancing. Elsewhere, pupils performed scenes from various productions and took part in music performances, with the school aiming to celebrate the importance of the arts in schools.
Matthew Ferrier, deputy headteacher added: “The aim of today is to showcase everything that happens throughout the year.
“Dance, drama, poetry, music and the visual arts are excellent opportunities for our pupils to develop planning, collaborative working, experimentation and risk taking skills.
“We’re very proud of what our pupils have achieved.”
