A YACHTSMAN was helped to safety tonight after he got into difficulty on the River Orwell.
Thames Coastguard received a 999 call at about 7.10pm from the yacht Dorcas.
The skipper of the yacht had rowed to shore at Pin Mill, near Ipswich, on a dinghy but, while trying to row back, he had been carried away on the ebbing tide.
Harwich Inshore Lifeboat and Holbrook Coastguard were called and they helped the man back to his yacht.
