The search for Snow White is over.

After an extensive search and tough set of two-day auditions, a panel of judges at Ipswich’s Regent Theatre has chosen Harriet Bacon to play the lead role in the production when it takes to the stage over Christmas this year.

Having already revealed that Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton would play the Wicked Queen and Matt Pagan the handsome prince in the show, organisers announced that an open audition would be held to find the lead role.

This week budding young actors braved the stage in the hope of getting the part by performing in front of a panel made up of former X Factor star Stevi Ritchie, Matt Pagan and producer Guy Pascall.

After reading lines, singing and putting in their best bids to take on the role, Ms Bacon - from Ipswich - was chosen from a clutch of hopefuls.
