Suffolk cycle speedway racers star in double joy victory at Sheffield

The third Battle of Britain Supertrax clash of the season saw the East & South East head to Sheffield to race North & Scotland.

All the E&SE team race for Suffolk clubs – and it was a double celebration – with both the juniors and seniors victorious.
The junior clash saw a meeting of two unbeaten sides and was very entertaining.
The E&SE are very strong at the top end, with Ipswich and England’s Pierce Bacon again getting great support from his brother Harrison. While Lewis Brinkhoff showed huge maturity as he raced to a brilliant 24-point maximum.
However, it was rest of the E&SE team that starred. Ethan Mitchell, making his Battle of Britain debut at a dusty and hot Cookson Park circuit, performed very well, as did fellow reserve James Porter.

In the main body of the team, Adam Cooper won an important heat, while Tyler Brinkhoff and Ben Clarke did a huge amount of unselfish work. It was a most impressive performance.

The seniors had a more comfortable victory over their northern opponents, as they also kept up their unbeaten Battle of Britain run.

The E&SE were solid throughout and all eight riders contributed.
North & Scotland included two experienced riders in former champions Steve Harris and Andy Angel. But Ipswich showed some super team riding, none more so that Leon Mower.
The Ipswich top six were too good and with reserve Pierce Bacon winning three heats, the North had no response.
