MEDALS have been handed out at a mini Olympics for adults with learning difficulties.
The adults the Rushmere Community Resource Unit took part in the day and enjoyed a range of activities including welly throwing, egg and spoon relays and skittle bashing.
Jackie Patrick, a community inclusion facilitator at the unit in Humber Doucy Lane, Ipswich, said: “Everyone enjoyed it. They liked the atmosphere and it was great that everyone could participate, even if they had complex needs.
“When it came to give out medals at the end there was a great feeling of camaraderie.”
She added that as well as taking part in the events the adults also made flags and Olympic rings, lit a symbolic flame and held an opening ceremony with dancers.
