PANTO bosses have insisted that actress Letitia Dean will fulfil her obligations at Ipswich's Regent Theatre this Christmas - despite a possible clash looming with a hit television show.

The former EastEnders star is currently wowing the judges on Strictly Come Dancing, the popular BBC show, which pits 14 celebrities paired with professional dancers against each other.

The final of the show, which involves a gruelling weekly training schedule, takes place on December 22.

And with twice-daily shows of Cinderella beginning at Ipswich's Regent Theatre on December 14, there have been concerns that Ms Dean may not be able to fulfil her obligations as the Fairy Godmother.

The BBC has confirmed that the star would be appearing on Strictly Come Dancing until she is voted off by the public or she until she reaches the final.

And when asked how Ms Dean could take part in both productions, a spokesman for CAM Management, which acts as her agent, said: “I am not sure yet, we have not crossed that bridge.”

However, according to the company co-producing Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother will be available for all performances and cannot wait to start.

Barrie Stead, executive producer for Duo Entertainment, who is co-producing this year's panto with Ipswich Borough Council, said: “Letitia has a full and binding contract to appear as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at the Ipswich Regent Theatre this Christmas.

“She is looking forward to spending Christmas in Suffolk.”
