Students from the sixth form organised the event at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket, where three of the sixth form’s bands – Subwoofer, Intervention and The Orangutans – performed to more than 120 music lovers.

The event raised nearly £300, with all proceeds going to Autism Anglia.

Jacob Ottaway, who helped co-ordinate the event with his classmates, said: “The songs ranged from Maroon Five to McFly via Little Mix and it was a great night. It all came together. We set out with the intention of putting on a successful gig that could raise money for charity and that’s exactly what happened.”

Music teacher, Gareth Evans, added: “The talent we have at One seems to get better every year and the charity concert was a great showcase for this. I’m incredibly proud of my students.”
