As Britain prepares to mark the second centenary Remembrance Sunday, communities across Suffolk are preparing to mark the solemn anniversary of the 1918 armistice.
In Ipswich the town’s main service of Remembrance will be held at the Cenotaph in Christchurch Park.
This year, for the first time, a hundred crosses with pictures of some of those who have been killed in action over the last century will be placed in sandboxes beside the memorial before the service starts.
The Ipswich commemoration starts with a procession from the Town Hall at 10.40am to Christchurch Park. The service in the park is expected to start at about 10.50am.
There will be a two-minute silence to mark the armistice at 11am and after the service and parade there will be an opportunity to see research into many of the names on the Ipswich Cenotaph at Christchurch Mansion.

Meanwhile Felixstowe’s civic service of remembrance will take place at the Trinity Methodist Church on Hamilton Road at 9.45am.
That will be followed by a ceremony at the war memorial outside the Town Hall on Undercliff Road West with a two-minute silence at 11am.
Other churches and towns across the Suffolk will be holding their own ceremonies to mark Remembrance Sunday – and all will feature a two-minute silence at 11am.
There will be further ceremonies next week on Armistice Day itself, Wednesday November 11, in both Ipswich and Felixstowe.
