A FORMER Kesgrave High School student is celebrating today after finding out that his A-level business studies mark was among the highest in the country.

Harry Putus, 18, scooped three As in his A-levels but there was even more reason to be happy when he received a letter congratulating him for being in the top ten in the country for business studies.

He said: “I was really surprised.

“To be honest, I though that a couple of those exams had gone quite badly so I'm quite shocked by it, but it's obviously really good news.”

Mr Putus, of Back Lane, Falkenham, scored 568 marks out of a possible 600 and said he celebrated the news with a pint.

He added: “I would like to sincerely thank my AS and A2 Business Studies teachers Mr Hetherington, Mr Christopher and Mr Tingey for their enthusiasm and support - I would never have got the results I did without them.”

He also got A grades in history and English and is now preparing to start an archaeology course at University College London.

He said: “It's a bit of a departure from business studies but I think it will be really interesting.

“I'm looking forward to it.”
