A Welsh couple are celebrating the season of goodwill after a Christmas card, which took a 300mile detour, found its way home.

The card, addressed to Gaynor and Roy Thomas of Bwllfa Road, Swansea, was posted on December 13, at a Swansea letter box.

However, it arrived at an address in Felixstowe, with the only similarities being the house number and the word ‘road’.

On Friday, Mr and Mrs Thomas received the card with a letter explaining the mix-up, and wrote to us in the hope that the deliverer will see their thanks.

Mrs Thomas said: “It was just nice that somebody actually bothered to get a postcode and get it back to us and we just want to say thank you.

“It makes you think there is still an air of goodwill around Christmas time.”
