AN Essex zoo is celebrating the birth of two red-bellied Tamarin babies.
Mother Poca and father Piura have been taking turns to carry the pair around their enclosure in the South American section of Colchester Zoo.
Red-bellied tamarins are found in a small area of western Brazil, eastern Peru and northern Bolivia.
In the wild, the arboreal animals spend most of their time in the rainforest canopy.
Although they are not currently classed as an endangered species, this could change if the pace of deforestation - particularly in Brazil - continues.
