SUFFOLK residents should not face council tax increases of more than five per cent, government has announced.
Local government minister John Healey has told the Commons he expects average council tax increases in England to be "substantially" below 5 pc next year.
His comments came after it was confirmed town hall funding will rise by 4 pc in 2008-9, 4.4 pc in
2009-10 and 4.3 pc in 2010-11.
