A TEENAGE girl is in a serious condition in hospital today after she was involved in a horror accident on a Suffolk river.
A TEENAGE girl is in a serious condition in hospital today after she was involved in a horror accident on a Suffolk river.
The 14-year-old was on an inflatable rubber ring being towed behind a speedboat when she was in collision with a passing yacht in the estuary near Levington Marina at around 3.30pm yesterday.
The girl, who is from the Basildon area of Essex, was initially taken to Ipswich hospital by air ambulance but was later transferred to Addenbrooke's where she is currently in critical condition after sustaining a fractured skull and brain injuries. She also has a fractured leg.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to the accident.
