A teenage boy has been charged with robbery and attempted robbery in connection with two incidents at the weekend.
On Saturday at around 2.30am a 14-year-old girl alleged someone had pushed her to the ground in Iris Close and stolen her handbag containing a white iPhone and around £30.
She sustained minor injuries during the robbery, police said.
Later that day at 7.15pm a 61-year-old man was approached in Bramford Road by someone who allegedly demanded his mobile phone.
A Suffolk police spokesman said: “The man refused to give his phone to the suspect and walked away before calling police.”
A boy, aged 16, was arrested yesterday in connection with the two incidents and has now been charged.
He will appear in Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today.
