A FORMAL planning application to build a supermarket in Hadleigh has today been received.
The application handed from food giant Tesco to Babergh District Council seeks permission to build a new store in the market town.
According to the application, the store would measure some 3,055 sq metres (33,000sq feet) and would be accessed from Bridge Street. Pedestrian and cycle links from the High Street are also proposed.
Babergh's planning officers are now checking through the plans and supporting documents to ensure that everything necessary has been submitted by the company.
Once that has been done the application will be registered and made available for the public to view it at Babergh's Hadleigh offices or on the council's website.
Babergh will then begin its consultation with statutory bodies and local residents.
