A WOMAN was taken to hospital today after an accident on a slip road of the A12.

Emergency services were called to Colemans Bridge, near Witham, at 1.40pm where traffic travelling towards Chelmsford was held up.

A blue Jaguar, a silver Ford Focus and a Post Office van collided and blocked both lanes.

The female driver of the Focus had to be cut free by firefighters and was taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, although her injuries are not thought to be serious.

Police diverted traffic off the A12 at Kelvedon until one lane was reopened at around 2.30pm.
