We kick off our Throwback Thursday feature off this week at Portman Road, as Ipswich Town sign the iconic Ian Marshall from Oldham Athletic for a fee around £750,000.
Today’s photos - in case you had not guessed - date from August 1993. As the Premier League season got underway Marshall famously scored on his debut away at Oldham as well as scoring during his home debut against Southampton.
Over to Carr Street, the much loved Tom and Jerry made an appearance at Woolworths with many children coming to the store to catch a glimpse of their cartoon heroes.
Crown Pools took advantage of the sunny weather by hosting a sand castle building competition just outside their complex.
There was quite a scene at the town hall as people dressed up in costume to go on a sponsored pub crawl around the town.
Over to Handford Hall Primary School as children enjoyed a football week learning different techniques.
