THEY had not been in the same room together for 40 years.
But it only seemed like yesterday when former youth club friends Jennie Day (nee Cook) Lesley Alger (nee Tydeman) and Margaret Fry (nee Gower) got-together at The Novotel in Ipswich.
Raising a glass of champagne to celebrate Lesley, 56, said: "In the past 48 hours we haven't stopped giggling."
She flew all the way from the United States to meet up with her former best friends who all attended the Allen Road Youth Club in their teens.
Jennie, 57, of Sproughton High Street and Margaret, 57, who lives off Belstead Road in Ipswich, have been friends since the age of five when they both attended Cliff Lane Primary School.
From the age of 13 years all three went to Allen Road Youth Club where past antics which included visiting the chip shop for scraps and rustling sweet papers in church.
The trio drifted apart after Margaret moved to Cambridge and Lesley followed her late husband to America, where she now works as a secretary in a school in Illinois.
But they were reunited again thanks to the Friends Reunited website.
Lesley is hoping to return to Ipswich to live and the trio would love to catch up with old school or youth club friends.
If you know any of the three, please e-mail Margaret at lalger7374@aol
