WORK has begun on transforming three young Ipswich women into their pop idols.
The trio were chosen at auditions to find the region's top Atomic Kitten sound-alikes. They are now rehearsing hard for their charity appearance.
Lesley Scott, 21, Katie Chittock, 19, and Sophie Oliver, 20, will step into the shoes of Liz, Jenny and Natasha on July 23 at a disco and karaoke in aid of Cancer Research.
They will perform the group's two number one hits – Whole Again and Eternal Flame – and a third track, You Are.
They have already begun working towards their performance, rehearsing weekly at Ipswich's Springvale Studio.
In just over three months they will take the stage at the Corn Exchange as the highlight of the charity event.
There will also be entertainment in the form of a disco and karaoke throughout the night, which will run from 6.30pm to 11pm.
Tickets for the event, which is open to everyone aged 16 and above, are on sale at £4.
They are available at the Central Box Office, Princes Street, Ipswich, or by contacting 01473 433100.
For more information call 01473 236603.
