Rex Manning, 54, who has played the game for 44 years winning numerous titles in the Ipswich and Suffolk championships, will take on former England-ranked junior player and Suffolk Ladies number two Rosemary Curtis, 46, from 4pm on Friday, July 28.

The free-to-use table was unveiled at Sailmakers at the end of June and will stay there for the next seven weeks with the hope of getting more people to take up the sport.

“We really want to entice more female players to give it a go, said Mr Manning.

“Hopefully people will enjoy it because you really can play it at any age.

“We often have members who play into their seventies and eighties.

Mrs Curtis added: “I think it’s brilliant Sailmakers have installed this table and hopefully it will give the sport a real boost locally.”
