More than 150 Ipswich Society members gathered for the organisation’s 57th annual general meeting on Wednesday, to discuss key developments in the town over the last year.
The AGM, held at the University of Suffolk’s Waterfront Building, featured a talk by Ipswich Borough Council’s urban design and conservation officer Mike Taylor, where points of discussion included the town’s local list, urban characterisation study and projects expected over the coming year.
Society chairman John Norman said: “It is difficult to establish exactly what causes members of the Ipswich Society to turn out for the annual AGM in ever increasing numbers.
“The speaker, the venue, the opportunity to speak to other members and about the issues of the day.
“Whatever, they certainly turned out for the 2017 meeting in force – 150 members in the university keeping the executive on their toes.”
