IPSWICH Town midfield legend John Wark is to auction off some of the memorabilia he collected throughout his illustrious football career.

On Sunday the lots belonging the Town stalwart will be among other sporting items being sold by Lockdales Coins & Collectables, at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, Ransomes Europark, Ipswich.

The Scotland international, who also played for Liverpool during the club's glory years, is selling the match ball given to him for his hat-trick during Ipswich's 1981 UEFA Cup win against Widzew Lodz. It was signed by 13 members of the squad and valued at between £100 - £200

Also estimated at the same value is the match ball given to Wark after his first hat-trick for Liverpool FC during the 1984/85 season, signed by eleven Anfield stars.

Other mementoes include shirts exchanged after games against AS Roma and FC Cologne during Ipswich's 1981 UEFA Cup-winning campaign.

Two of Wark's Scotland 1982 World Cup jerseys will also go under the hammer and are expected to fetch up to £400 for the pair.

Part of the remainder of the auction will be dedicated to other football-related memorabilia such as autographs, other items relating to Ipswich Town and some very rare pre-war programmes involving the club.

Viewing will take place from 10am until 12:30pm on Sunday.
